Women Veterans of Colorado, a Denver-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will host its 5th Annual Women Veterans of Colorado conference. The free event is open to women veterans of all ages and includes informational sessions around the theme, “Celebrating Colorado Women Warriors: Realizing Your Full Potential”.
This free conference will offer nine different classes within three categories of Life Planning, Self Care, and Education/Career. The session presenters are all experts in their fields and cover a wide variety of topics including overcoming obstacles, financial literacy, career transitioning, and self care (mental and physical).
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Booz Allen Senior Vice President Susan Lawrence, Lieutenant General, U.S. Army, (Retired) and former Chief Information Officer, U.S. Army, will provide the keynote address to the gathering of Women Veterans. General Lawrence retired after a 40-year career in the U.S. Army, having enlisted at age 18 and states, she is proud of being part of the event, “I look forward to speaking with my fellow women veterans, hearing their stories, and sharing mine.”
FREE HEADSHOT: A bonus this year for women veteran attendees is an opportunity to have a professional headshot photo taken by Project Wounded Ego photographers—free of charge! As an added bonus, stylists from a local salon will be on hand to provide a makeup touch up and professional hairstyle before the photo sessions.
EXHIBITORS/SPONSORS: Attendees are also invited to visit with exhibitors providing a spectrum of resources. The mobile Veterans Assistance Center will be open for attendees to tour and meet with professional counselors throughout the conference. Event Information: The 5th Annual “Women Veterans of Colorado Conference” will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center, 200 Inverness Drive West, Englewood, Colorado 80112, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Lunch is included.
